ALmost There…
This past week was actually a really good .. The most memorable moment was when one of my Special Ed. Students did not want to leave my class he kept on hugging me and refusing to go to his next class. This moment really made my day, I did not even know that this student appreciates me so much. One of his teachers told me that one day he was absent he called the school and he talked to his special Ed. teacher and said that he was crying because he was going to miss Spanish class. I was really happy to hear that. This was beautiful moment and I will keep it all my life.
What I learned this week as a Foreign language teacher was that sometimes students learn more from this classes than from their classes and students enjoy are classes better than their core classes. I say this because several of my students say that their english and history classes are really boring that they never do work and if they do is all worksheet based and they finish the wok really quick and then they have free time. I was really amazed because I never thought that students would do more work in their language classes than their core classes.
My CT and I talked about the importance of getting to know students very well and to always make them feel special and that we care about them because that way when they are in our classrooms they feel safe and they feel that they can trust us and open to us if they have problems.

Students love me
There is so many good things that happened to me last week the one that amazed me the most is the one I want to share with you guys. Well last week I was observed by Dr. Bond and the observation went terrible because my students from 10th period are really rough, well on thursday one of my students from 10th period (she is one of those students that always misbehaves ) told me that even though she misbehaves (that tells me that she is aware that she misbehaves) all the time and even though sometimes she is mean to me she likes me and she wishes that next year for me to be her teacher for spanish 2. I replied by telling her that if she really liked me she needed to behave and pay attention in class fro her to be able to pass spanish 1. This really amazed me I always thought that this student didn’t like.
As a foreign teacher I learned that students are really attracted to foreign language classes most of my students tell me that spanish is their favorite class because is adifferent environmet becuse they say they learn and have fun not like in their other classes in which they seat and take notes all period long.
My CT and I talked about the importance of keeping up with the grading and the importance of grafing the papers that are more important first then the rest. There was one thing that kind of bothered me it was that she deleted an assigment that I had assigned to the students. I think she deleted the assignment because many of the students did not turn it in. I don,t appreciate her deleting the assignments because students should learn the consequences of not completing their work.

Sadness..
First of all sorry for posting this a little late.. the reason its because I am doing total teach and I been suuper busy.. I am sorry once again…
The most memorable moment last week was a really sad moment.. One of my students told me that he hated spanish class , then I asked him why, he said because spanish class was a little complicated and because they too much work. This comment made me really sad.. I dont think I give them a lot of work I think the work its just enough for them to practice the language and for them to really learn the material. This comment has been in the back of my head all last week and this week he made feel me that I failed as a teacher in one way or another.
This week I learned that as a language teacher you will often be asked to do things besides teaching. The reason I say this its because as a bilingual teacher I was asked twice this past week to translate for counselors and student’s families. This experience taught me that as a teacher you will not always be teaching you will also be given assignments that not always relate to teaching.
My CT and I have been talking about is the importance of always reflecting after teaching because that way you will see the mistake you made and improve your teaching strategies.

LoVing Student TeAcHiNg!!!
The most memorable experience this week was when one of my students told me that he wishes for me to be his teacher next year because he really likes when I teach the class. This experience made me feel that in some way or another I am reaching my students and they are really enjoying my teaching. Another experience that is eally memorable is that I been teaching almost all (but one) of my CT’s classes and the majority passed the test even the students that usually get really low grades I was very happy about this because that proves that they are learning the material I am teaching to them..
As a foreign language teacher I learned that students take language classes because they have great interest on the language and about the cultures that speak the language, also students like to be exposed to the target language as much as possible. Another thing that I learned is that students that are taking foreign language believe that a new language should be learned is a fun way.
My cooperative teacher and I were talking about the importance of teaching classes every day and not playing movies like many teachers do, for example on friday many teachers did not teach at all because it was friday and because spring break was about to start so they decided no to teach and play movies, instead what I planned for my students was make up day my CT and I printed progress reports for them and students were able to know the exercises they were missing as a result students practiced what they had learned and replaced 0′s with a better grade.

Week 4!!!
The most memorable experience this week was on tuesday because on that day I got observed and I had designed a great lesson for my students but I was not sure about the students response to the lesson. The reason this is the most memorable experience for this week its because I thought my students were not going to like the lesson because it was very different from the way my CT teaches and also because students were required to record a dialogue, but at the end everything turned out great the end of class students gave me some feedback they told me that they really liked it and that the lesson was fun, they even asked me to do it again soon. I was really glad to hear that they really liked it.
As a foreign teacher I learned that it is really important to fulfill all of the different learning styles for students to really learn and to keep them focused during whole entire lesson, that way students dont find foreign classes boring or too hard because they are learning in a way that is easy and entertaining for them.
My CT and I talked a lot this week about how the problems that students have at home or with their significant other really affects their learning and how an A students can drop to be a F student. We are both trying to reach to those students that we know have problems at home we are helping them by extending their due dates and by telling them that we are there for them that if they need any help or somebody to talk to we are available before and after school.

Week 3
This week as a good week !! I took over another class !!
As I said this week was a great week I finally feel that my CT and I are having great communication and that we are on the same channel before I used to feel like if we were from totally different worlds. The most memorable moment of this week has to do with my CT and myself. On thursday during our conference period my CT and I were just talking about the activities we want to do with our students next week and all of the sudden she asked me if I needed anything or that if I wanted to learn something specifictly from her or If she was being too hard or harsh with me by giving so many duties I answered by saying that I didnt think that she was being harsh or being abusive by giving those duties to me and I thanked her for trusting me by giving me those duties and I told her that I just needed it to learn as much as I can from her.. This really made me feel that she cares for me and that she is really trying to help me learn. I have the feeling that she feels more comfortable with me and that I have earned her trust.
This week I learned that its extremely important for a foreign teacher to speak in the target language 24/7. Students really enjoy hearing the target language I say this because I noticed that my students sometimes come before or after school to ask me how to say this and that in spanish I think they are really enjoying having a student teacher that is a native speaker that speaks to them mostly in spanish.
This week My CT and I talked about how important was to always be at the time the teachers are required to be on campus and how helpful are those extra 45 minutes we are in the classroom before our first class. The reason we talked about this was becuase the head of the spanish department is never on campus at 7:45 as she is supposed to, she is always arrives around 8:10 and sometimes there are students waiting for her. My CT told me that she was happy because I am always on time.

Week 2- Feb 9-13
Last week was a really good week for me I feel that my CT and I are getting a long better and better also our communication has improved. The most memorable moment for this week was when two of my students told me that they liked me better than my CT, I asked the two students what was the reason they liked me better than Mrs. Ramirez (my CT) and they said because I made class more fun and because I speak a lot of spanish to them. The comments that these two students made about me made me feel so good because it tells me that in some way or another I am reaching my students.
I feel that I have grown a lot as a foreign teacher I learned this week that its very important to prepare and plan everyday and for every lesson. I also learned that is always good to have a back up if things dont go well as you had planned also to have little fun activities for students to do if there is free time after lesson.
My cooperating teacher give me and advice she told me to talk a little louder this comment was very surprising because I always thought that my voice was loud even when I was little my mom used to tell me all the time that I need it to talk more quietly. Another very important thing that CT shared with me was that the beauty about this profession was that if a part of your lesson plan goes wrong with one class or just dosen’t fly you have the next class period to change and improve it.
I don’t have any concerns other than just wish that the communication between my CT and I was a little better.
